OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION
GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSOCIATION APAME
Set-up in Strasbourg, as an association, it is a place for life and culture allowing for awareness-raising and the diffusion of art with strong artistic and cultural value from developing countries. Successful sales will provide an income to their creators and support to artistic, cultural and social actions of these countries (like the two-week Haitian exhibition that was held in Strasbourg at the end of the 90’s in support of an environmental action in Haiti).

The work of the association is being implemented according to a three pillars strategy:
- support to target groups in developing countries through concrete actions (social and cultural to support the setting-up of cultural and art structures)
- promotion at local and international level (eventually touring exhibitions will be organized throughout Europe) to enhance the value of the art and the culture of the concerned countries through mutual learning
- articulation with other cultural arts, like music, that will allow the participation of other associations developing actions regarding these countries, in order to create a synergy that will benefit all of the associations and the life of the city, through the organized events.
CONCRETE OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION APAME
1.- To raise awareness of Art (notably painting, drawings, sculpture, quality handicrafts etc) and of the main culture of the developing countries and to sell art pieces on behalf of their creators in accordance with the conditions provided for within contracts concluded with the producers of the art pieces (artists’ unions, artists’ collectives, galleries, individuals).
2.- Launch events to optimize these objectives (touring two-week events with various activities (conferences about cultural and artistic issues, concerts, etc relating to the concerned country).
3.- Allocate the financial benefits (less the revenue agreed with the authors and the expenses of the association) to social and cultural actions towards the concerned countries and organize follow-up and control of the agreed activities.
